Midge trapped in
Amber - 54 million years old
This beautiful piece of natural Baltic
Amber is between 28-54 million years old - of the Eocene age.
In its centre is a midge (order Diptera, Family Ceratopogonidae if
interested), who landed on a tree millions of years ago to be
encased forever in fossilised tree sap. History preserved!
